Mina Elizabeth Brown, 96, died Friday, July 22, 1994 at the Halstead Hospital. She had been a Halstead resident for 65 years, and for the past year lived at Regency Health Care Center in Halstead.

She was born July 12, 1989 at Burrtron, the daughter of Edward and Mollie Wilson Grover. She was a graduate of Burrton High School. On July 20, 1919, she married Clancy R. Brown at Burrton. They moved to Halstead from a farm north of Burrton in 1929. He preceded her in death on Jume 29, 1917.

She was a member of the Halstead United Methodist Church where she had been active as a Sunday School teacher and as a member of the United Methodist Women. She also was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and for several years, worked in the hospital gift shop as a member of the Halstead Hospital Auxiliary.

Survivors include two daughters, Cloyce Stanley, Kerrville, Texas and Joyce Gassert, Camarillo, California; son, Wilbur Brown, Kansas City, Missouri; two sisters, Gladys Warner and Jessie Meschke, both of Burrton; 12 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Grover on March 18, 1986.

Funeral was Tuesday, July 26 at the United Methodist Church, Halstead with the Rev. James Mardock presiding. Burial was in the Halstead Cemetery.
