Obituary

Leona M. Brown, 78, died Wednesay August 18, 2010 in North Newton. She was born Oct. 25. 1931 at Leavenworth, to william and Dorothey (Varner) Mortsolf. A longtime bentley resident, she worked as a nuse aide forman years. She was a member of the American Legion Auxillary of Sedgwick. On Auf 19, 1989 she married James Leo Brown at rural Newton. He died sept. 6, 2007. Survivors include Daughters: Dee (Byron) Spore, Newton; Jeanie (Bill Nash) Mowery, Tonganoxie; Brother; William Mortsolf Jr,. Leavenworth; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchidren. She was preceded in death by a Son: Ray Smith and two Sisters, Arline Trusty and MaryJane Housworth. Graveside Service was Monday, aug. 23, at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Bentley, with the Rev. Paul wulff offficiating. Memorials may be sent to Hospice Care of Kansas in care fo Kaufman Funeral Home, Halstead.
