Johnny H. Farber, 85, longtime Halstead resident, died Tuesday,. January 23, 1986 at Meadowbrook Manor, Sedgwick. He was born June 8, 1910 at Halstead, the son of August Henry and Katherine Vogt Farber. He ws a member of the First United Methodist Church, Halstead. He was a volunteer fireman and was an employee of the U.S. Postal Service.

He married Margaret Wellman at Wellington, Kansas on December 27, 1933. She survives. Other survivors include a son, Johnny Wayne Farber and his wife, Frances, Wichita; daughter, Gaylene Sue McConnell and her husband, Richard, Wellington; seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; sister, Ruth Greer, Salina, Kansas. He was preceded in death by two sons, Donald Lee on Jnuary 17, 1938 and Tommy Duane on Febuary 3, 1952; a brother, Toby Arthur Farber; sister, Louise Jameson; half-brotheer, Edwin Feldschneider, and half-sister, Ricki Scheuffler.

Services were held Friday Janury 26, at the Church with the Rev. James Mardock. Burial was in Halstead Cemetery.
