Frances Baker, 85, Haven, died Tuesday, November 18, 1997 at Via Christi Regional Medical Center, Wichita. She was born July 30, 1912 at Ellsworth, the daughter of Phillip Hackett and Nellie Louise Crann Commer. She lived most of her life in the Burrton and Haven area. She was a homemaker and a teacherr at a rural school south of Haven.
She was a member of Burrton United Methodist Church and a member of United Methodist Women at the Church.
On September 4, 1932, she married Oliver William Baker in Valley Township, rural Burrton. He died September 30, 1971.
Survivors: son, William R. Baker, Gretna, Louisiana; two daughters, Jane Baker Jestes, Seabrook Texas, and Dee Ann Holeman, Park City, Utah; three brothers, Phillip Commer and Dean Commer, both of Wichita; Don Commer, Cumming, Georgia; two sisters, Clairbell Driebelbis, South Hutchinson and Betty Sell, Burdett; ten grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
Funeral was Saturday, November 22 at Pleasant Grove
United Methodist Church, rural Burrton. Burial was in Burrton Cemetery. Memorials to American Diabetes Association.
