G. Dale Call, 93, former resident of Halstead, died Monday, October 6, 1997 at Shepherds Center, Cimmaron, Kansas. He was born February 4, 1904 in Copeland, Kansas, the son of Granville L. Call and Clara Broughton Call. After graduatiing from high school, he studied electrical engineering at Kansas State University for 2 1/2 years.

On June 28, 1929, he married Mabel Lois Jones at Emporia. From 1929 to 1932, they lived in Wichita and then moved to Halstead, where he served as an agent for KG&E until he retired. In February of 1997, the Calls moved to Cimarron. Mrs. Call died on May 7, 1997.

He was a member of the First Methodist Church, Halstead; past president of the Halstead Chamber of Commerce and the Halstead Lions Club; and Past Master of the Masonic Lodge in Halstead.

Survivors: son, Gary Call, Cimarron; daughter, Barbara Hardin, McPherson; three granddaughters and three great granddaughters.

Graveside service will be Friday, October 10, 1997 at the Halstead Kansas Cemetery.
