Doris I. Quinton, 80, Halstead, died Friday, December 19, 1997 at her residence. She was born October 22, 1917 at Halstead, the daughter of John B. and Gertrude M. Stryker Topham. A resident of Walton from 1941 to 1966, she was owner and operator of Walton Cafe, and acted as postmaster at Walton for four years. She also worked at Riblet Company in Newton for 14 years before retiring.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church, American Legion Auxiliary, both of Halstead, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, Newton, the Eagles Auxiliary, Wichita and the Kansas Women's Bowling Association.

On July 31, 1940, she married Gilbert Decker at Wichita. He died November 26, 1955. On September 6, 1960, she married Gilbert Quinton in Miami, Oklahoma. He died January 15, 1970.

Survivors: brothers, James Topham, Fredonia; John Topham, Peabody; Robert Topham, Wichita; Howard Topham, Venus, Texas; sisters, Olive Ax, Newton and Emma Stewart, Newton. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Wayne Topham and two sisters, Audrey Boothe and Eula Jennings.

Funeral is Wednesday, December 24, 1997 at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home Chapel, Newton with the Rev. James Mardock presiding. A private graveside service will follow.
