Unruh Fred B.

Harvey County Independent

Fred B. Unruh, 93, Burton, died Friday, December 26, 1997 at Mt. Hope Nursing Center, Mr. Hope. He was born August 10. 1904 in Russia, the son of Benjamin C. and Eva Boese Unruh. A lifelong resident of Burrton, he was a retired farmer. He was a member of the Mennonite Church in Burrton.

On July 23, 1927, he married Malinda Unruh at Newton. She died July 28, 1984. On May 12, 1985, he married Eva Epp at Hutchinson. She survives.

Other survivors: Melvin Unruh, Chester Unruh and Homer Unruh, all of Burrton; daughters Delores Gray and Mildred Vincent, Burrton; brother, August Unruh, Newton; sister, Amelia Nightingale, North Newton; stepsons, Carl Epp, Mt. Vernon, Washington; Leon Epp, Independence and Gary Epp, Bothell, Washington; stepdaughters, Greta Snell, Kingman and Susan Klassen, Shawnee Mission; 21 grandchildren; 16 step grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; 12 step-great grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Donald Unruh, a granddaughter, Janet Chronister and a stepson, James Epp.

Services wer Monday, December 29, at Burrton Mennonite Church with the Rev. James Gundy presiding. Burial was in Burrton Cemetery.
