Irene Lohmeyer, 82, long time Halstead resident, died Friday, October 30, 1998 at the Halstead Hospital. she was born September 10, 1916 at Newtonian, Missouri, the daughter of Arthur and Mary Leva Looney Harris. Before moving to Hesston's Schowalter Villa this year, she had been a resident of Halstead since 1954. She was medical records clerk for the Heretzler Clinic for 44 years, retiring this year, and secretary for the KG&E Office, concurrently.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church, American Legion Post 231 Auxiliary and the Old Settler's Committee, all of Halstead.
On August 21, 1964, she married Carl Lohmeyer at Halstead. He survives. Other survivors include sons, James Mahan, Lake Havasu, Arizona and Philip Mahan, Deerfield; daughters, Jan Allison, Mulvane and Cathy Harmes, Manhattan; sisters, Rubie Stoecker, Sacramento, California, Ana May Hinton, Coggan, Iowa and Georgia Robinson, Federal Way, Washington and six grandchildren.
Funeral was Monday, November 2 at the First United Methodist Church in Halstead. Rev. James Madock presiding. Burial was in the Halstead Cemetery.
