Carolyn A. (Little) Yoder

Carolyn A. Yoder, 36, Newton, died Monday, October 5, 1998 at Newton Medical Center. She was born October 21, 1961 at Governcur, New York, she was the daughter of Ralph W. and Patricia R. Macklin Little. She was a homemaker, a former oral surgeon assistant in Prairie Village and former employee at Alco in Newton.

She was a member of First United Presbyterian Church, Newton, where she was a Sunday school teacher and in 1998 she served on the Church's Board of Deacoons. She was a member of the Bell Choir, the Christian Education Board where she served as chairman in 1992; the Presbyterian Women in 1996-1997, and the Officers' Wives Club.

She was a youth sponsor in 1992 for junior and senior high ministry, taught Sunday school in Watertown, New York, until the age of 19, attended Jefferson Community College and received an EMT certificate.

She was a member and past president of McKinley PTO, member and past co-president of Slate Creek PTO; a member of the Community Playschool Board; an American Cancer Society Relay for Life Volunteer in 1997-1997 and a volunteer for the Harvey County Health Ministries wher she helped develop a dental program.

On January 24, 1986, she married David E. Yoder in Kansas City, Missouri. He survives. Other survivors: sons, Patrick John McDonald and Andrew David Yoder; daughter, Victoria Anne Yoder, all of the home; parents, Watertown, New York; brother, Gene W. Little, Baldwinsville,New York; sister, Rene' E. Warneck, Vestal, New York; paternal grandmother, Marguerite Little, Watertown, New York.

Memorial service is 10 a.m. Friday, October 9, at First United Presbyterian Church, Newton, with the Rev. James Anderson presiding. Calling times were 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday and today, October 8, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home, Newton. Family will greet friends from 6 to 9 p.m. this evening at the funeral ome.
