Obituary

Leonard S. Janes, 89, Halstead, died Tuesday, December 21, 1999 at Schowalter Villa, Hesston. Me was born October 29, 1910 at Goltry, Oklahoma, the son of Albert and Lizzie Kroeker Janes. A long time resident of Halstead, he was a farmer and had retired from the Halstead HOspital Maintenace Department after 22 years of service.
He was a member of First Church of the Nazarene, Newton. On March 14, 1968, he married Loretta M. Moser at Newton. She survives.

Other survivors include one son, Kenny Stringer, Haysville; four daughters, Deena Triggs and Vicky Senn, both of Port Arthur, Texas; Kayla Jones, Janesville, California and Melanie Nachtigal, Overland Park; brother, Lester Janes, Goltry, Oklahoma; three sisters, Marie Fuller, Newton; Helen Pekrul, Fredonia; and Lorene Unruh, Independence; 13 grandchildren and 3 great grand-children.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Clyde Janes and Fay Janes and one sister, Mabel Montgomery.

Services will be private with Rev. Larry Morgan presiding. Burial will be in Halstead Cemetery.
