Obituary

Lavonda Sue Banda, 50, Newton, mother of Mike Ethridge, Halstead, died August 3, 2000 at Sedgwick Healthcare Center, Sedgwick. She was born September 4, 1949 at Parrna, Missouri, daughter of R. E. and Margaret Louise Anderson Emerson.

She was a member of the Poplar Bluff American Legion. She moved to Newton two years ago from Poplar Bluff, Missouri.

Other Survivors: son, James E. Ethridge, Poplar Bluff, Missouri; daughter, Becky Lowery, Newton; two brothers, Jerry Emerson and Richard Emerson and a sister, Myrtle Malck, all from Newton and four grandchildren.

Services were held August 7 at Petersen Funeral Home, Newton with Rev. Jerroll Martens presiding.

Burial was in Restlawn Gardens of Memory, Newton.
