Obituary

Mary Daphyne "Dot" Burns, 79, long time resident of Burrton, died Monday, July 31, 2000 at Midwest City Regional Medical Center, Midwest City, Okllahoma.

She was born August 23, 1920 at Ponca City, Oklahoma, the daughter of John J. and Merry Grace Russell.

Mary "Dot" Burns spent much of her early years working on the family faarm, and later became a restaurant worker and owner. She was also a beautician.

She married L. C. "Bud" Jones July 1, 1947 at Beaver, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death in 1981.

She is survived by two sons, Johnny J. Burns and wife, Debbie, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Jim C. Burns and wife, Coletta, of VanWert, Ohio and six grandchildren.

Other survivors: two sisters, Hilda LeValley, Enid, Oklahoma; Wanda Smith, Springfield, Missouri and a sister-in-law, Leona Bridwell, Beaver, Oklahoma. A brother, John Stanley Russell and a sister, Florine Langley, preceded her in death.

Graveside Service will be at the Burrton Cemetery, Friday, August 4 with the Rev. Albert Schuessler and Rev. Jim C. Burns presiding.
