Lavera A. Stineman-Good, 86, Newton, sister to Maxine Ropp of Halstead, died January 8, 2000 at Presbyterian Manor, Newton. She was born April 2, 1913 at Newton, the daughter of James D. and Inez F. Elder Hall. She graduated from Newton High School in 1913. A longtime Newton resident, she retired from the J. C. Penny Co. in 1982.

She belonged to First Christian Church, Christian Women's Fellowship and was a member of the church board of directors. She also served on the Harvey County Election Board.

On August 1, 1932, she married Oliver E. Stineman at Wellington. He died October 8, 1984. On February 9, 1992, she married Ralh G. Good at Newton. He died February 22, 1992

Other survivors; three sons, Gordon and Dick, both of Newton and John, Pratt; three other sisters, Bobby Stineman, Davenport, Iowa; Fern Lingnau, Ponca City, Oklahoma and Edith Harper, Chevy Chase, Maryland; 11 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Jane Ann Stineman; two brothers, Gene and Verlin Hall and a sister, Ruth Van Horn.

Services were January 11 at Peterson Funeral Home, Newton. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery, Newton.
