Stamback, Mabel N.

Harvey County Independent

Mabel N.. Stamback, 70, Sedgwick, died Monday, March 12, 2001 at her home. She was born November 13, 1930 at Sedgwick, the daughter of William Blaine Thomas and Naomi Behymer. She was a retired restaurant cook and homemaker.

On June 11, 1930, she married Charles R. Stamback. He survives of the home.

She was a member of Sedgwick Christian Church and helped with Bible school. She loved being around children and was an avid crocheter and enjoyed cooking. When asked her age, she told everyone she was "21".

Survivors: include two daughters, Barbara Bustamante, Macksville and Cheryl Devine, Colorado Springs, Colorado; two sons, Roger Stamback, Wichita and Tom Stamback, Bentley; two brothers, Allen Thomas, Sedgwick and Bill Thomas, Augusta; two sisters, Beverly Hilberling, Oweasso, Oklahoma and Lorna Preston, Newton; 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Jack Thomas and Jerry Thomas and a sister, Judy Spencer.

Services will be March 16, 2001 at Sedgwick Christian Church. Buriaal will be in Hillside Cemetery, Sedgwick.
