Stamm, Mary M.

Harvey County Independent

Mary M. Stamm, 83, Sedgwick, died Thursday. June 5, 2003 at her home. She was born May 10, 1920 at Sedgwick, the daughter of Albert E. and Mable Etta Dosien Wiley. She was a lifelong Sedgwick and Bentley area resident.

She married Melvin C. Stamm June 26, 1938 at Sedgwick. He died August 18, 1971.

She was a member of the Sedgwick United Methodist Church and served as the organist for both the Sedgwick and Bentley United Methodist Churches for over 50 years. She was a member of the Athena Club of Sedgwick; a former state board member of the Business and Professional Women, and a member of the Harvey County Medical Assistants Association.

Survivors: son, Charles Larry Stamm, Grand Rapids, Michigan; two daughters, Marilyn Jean Hatch and Barbara Kay Sage, both of Sedgwick; brother, Richard Wiley, Jefferson City, Missouri; sister, Leah McFadden, Seattle, Washington; 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three brothers, Albert Wiley, William Wiley and Harold Wiley and a sister, Ruth Bailey.

Funeral service was held June 9 at the Sedgwick United Methodist Church. Burial followed at the Hillside Cemetery in Sedgick.
