Obituary

Helene R. Wiens, 83, Hesston, mother of Ken Wiens, Halstead, died Saturday, June 28, 12003, at Newton. She was born October 30, 1919, daughter of John and Anna Bartel Dyck. She was a homemaker and had lived in the Newton area all of her life. She enjoyed sewing, camping, flowers, gardening and family gatherings.
On December 6, 1944, she married Jacob "Jake" W. Wiens in the Emmaus Mennonite Church. He died January 11, 1999.

She was a member of the First Mennonite Church, Newton and the Women's Sewing Circle.

Other survivors: four other sons, Don Wiens, Hutchinsoon; Arlen Wiens, Robert Wiens and Paul Wiens, all of Newton; one daughter, Donata Gillen, Hesston; brother, Ralph Dyck, West Plains, Missouri; 14 grandchildren and 8 great grand children.

She was preceded in death by her parents and 3 brothers, Albert Dyck, Elmer Dyck and John Dyck.

Services were held July at the First Mennonite Church, Newton with burial in Restlawn Gardens of Memory, Newton.
