Baughman, Francis Edward

Francis Edward Baughman was born January 18, 1877 in Reno County, five miles southwest of Burrton to Hiram and Clarissa Baughman. He passed away October 27, 1971 at South Hospital, Hutchinson at the age of 94 years, 9 months and 9 days.

He was married to Rosa Lee Hensley on March 18, 1903. To this union Leah, Gladys, Norma and one son were born. All have preceded him in death.

On June 5, 1912 at Hutchinson, Kansas, he was married Ethel Freese who passed away February 3, 1971. They made their home on a farm near his place of birth. He spent his entire life in Reno County. For the past four years, he had made his home at Colonial Manor in Haven.

He was a member of the First Christian Church of Burrton and served many years as a deacon, elder and teacher of the Men's Sunday School Class. He was a Mason and a Past Patron of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Survivors: sons, Ray and Ralph Baughman; three daughters, Mrs. Vada Huspeth; Mrs. Frances Rexer and Mrs. Faye Allen; 27 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren and one great-great grandson.

Services were held at the Church on October 30. Burial was in Burrton Cemetery.
