Obituary

Clancy R. Brown, 76, of Halstead, died Tuesday morning at the Halstead Hospital after a long illness. He was born December 7, 1896 in Burlingame and moved to Halstead in 1929 from Burrton. He had been a rural mail carrier here prior to their move and was a retired rural mail carrier from the Halstead Post Office.

He married Mina Grover at Burrton on July 20, 1919. In addition to his widow, he is survived by sons, Wilbur of Manhattan and Grover, of Huron South Dakota; daughters, Mrs. William (Cloyce) Stanley of Wheaton, Illinois and Mrs. Lee (Joyce) Gasfert of Normal Illinois; 12 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Halstead; American Legion; Harvey County Rural Carriers Association; Veteran of World War I.

Services were held at the Church with Rev. Cecil R. Findley officiating. Burial was in the Hastead Cemetery.
