Lovie Cora Bird ws born June 24, 1894 at LaPlata, Missouri, the daughter of John M. and Parmela Bird. She died Saturday, April 8, 1972 at Hutchinson South Hospital after a long illness.

She was one of ten children, five brothers and four sisters, all preceding her in death. She moved with her family to Indian Territory in 1900.

She was united in marriage at Bartlesville, Oklahoma to Leo McLain on January 11, 1919. To this union two children were born, son, Kenneth and daughter, Betty Lou. They made their home in Bartlesville until 1935 when they moved to Burrton. They resided here until 1971 when because of failing health, they moved to the Landmark Hotel in Hutchinson.

She is survived by her husband, Leo; son, Kenneth and his wife of Ransom; daughter, Betty Doerr and her husband, Eureka; 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

Services were held April 11 at the United Methodist Church in Burrton. Burial was in Burrton Cemetery.
