Obituary

Jacob A. Base, 78, Route #1 died Tuesday evening, May 28,1973 at his home after a short illness. He was born December 17, 1895 at Moundridge. Hr married Mary Goertzen June 21, 1921 at Hutchinson. She died May 16, 1958. He married Ruth Hunt in February 1964 at Burrton.

Mr. Base was a retired farmer and a member of the Burrton Mennonite Church. He was a veteran of World War I.

Survivors are the widow; son, Dwain, Hutchinson; daughters, Mrs. Marita McBrice, South Hutchinson; Mrs. Marlene Neufeld, Buhler and Mrs. Valeta Franz, Route 4, Hutchinson; brothers, Tobe, Sedgwick; John, Pete and Henry, all of Burrton; sisters, Mrs. Susan Pankratz; Mrs. Martha Smith; Mrs. Goldie Hinners; Mrs. Bertha Wenael and Mrs. Pearl Clark, all of Burrton; Mrs. Dorothy Shive, Halstead and ten grandchildren.

Services were held May 31 at the Church with Rev. James Gundy officiating. Burial was in Burrton Cemetery.
