Obituary

Doris Mills, 81, lifelong resident of Burrton passed away Sunday afternoon, February 24 in Axtell Christian Hospital in Newton where she was a patient of nearly two weeks. She had been a resident of the Mary-L Home in Burrton for four years.

She was born Julyy 17, 1892, the eldest child of Samuel and Anna Vansickle. She was married to Percy H. Mills, October 2, 1912 and celetrated their 60th anniversary this past year.

To this union were born six children, the youngest, Robert Max, preceded her in death in 1933. Harry Vern, Topeka, Kansas; Harold Vance, San Diego, California; Fredda McBride, North Little Rock, Arkansas; Merle Cloudcroft, New Mexico; Morna Jordan, Baxter Springs, Kansas; 18 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Other survivors are brothers, Cecil Vansickle, Burrton; Earl Vansickle, Hutchinson; Frank Vansickle, Kingman.

Mrs. Mills was a member of the First Christian Church, Burrton and the Royal Neighbors.

Services were held at the church February 27 with Rev. Jerry Griffin officiating. Interment was in the Burrton Cemetery.
