Genevieve (Riggs) Batrum

Mrs. Genevieve Batrum, 73, died Saturday, December 27 at Halstead Nursing Center. She was born January 24, 1902 at Cairo, West Virginia and married Howard L. Batrum on December 4, 1922 at ElDorado. She had lived in Burrton since 1932. She was a member of Burrton Christian Church.

Survivors are the widower; daughter, Mrs. Margaret Bailey, Sterling, Colorado; brothers, Orville and Gilbert Riggs, Augusta; Bernard Riggs; sisters; Mrs. Nellie Skells; Mrs. Goldie McKenzie; Mrs. Evelyn Patten and Anita Riggs, all of Augusta; three grandchildren; three great grandchidren.

Funeral services were held Monday, December 29 at the Christian Church with Rev. Darryl Godinez presiding. Burial was in the Burrton Cemetery.
