Richard Buzzi, 58, Burrton man, died Friday night at Halstead Hospital from burns received in a fire that gutted his house on Colorado Street in Burrton early Friday afternoon.

Police reported that Mr. Buzzi aapparently was sleeping on a couch when a fire broke out in the house. He was found near a doorway on the floor, indicating that he had tried to ge out of the flaming structure. He was alone in the hoouse at the time.

He underwent tracheotomy surgery at the Haostead Hospital, but died a few hours later.

Mr. Buzzi was born in Arkansas City. He married Mildred R. Burwell in 1967 in Ohio. He was a carpenter and lived in Burrton two years after moving here from Hutchinson. He was a member of the United Methodist Church and was a veteran of World War II.

He leaves his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Linda Mitchell and Mrs. Bonnie Schley, both of Madison, Ohio; son, Richard, Willoughby, Ohio; step-daughter, Mrs. Deborah Grow, Burrton; four brothers, Lawrence, Hughton, Missouri; Ferd and Kenneth, Arkansas City; Gerald, West Cliff, Colorado; sister, Mrs. Isabel Allen, Euclid, Ohio and six grand children.

Services were held Tuesday at the church with burial in the Burrton Cemetery.
