Mary A Gatz

Mary A. Gatz, 77, Halsted, died Thursday, July 1, 2004 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. She was born November 27, 1926 at Garden Plain, Kansas, the daughter of Frank and Anna Scheer Kerschen. She was a homemaker and a clerk for Gatz Auction Service. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Halstead.

On March 30, 1948 whe married Bernard C. Gatz at Aleppo. He survives of the home.

Other survivors include two sons, Thomas Gatz, Scottsdale, Arizona and Ronald Gatz, Joplin, Missouri; three daughters, Kathryn Grupp, Grand Prairie, Texas; Susan Lukert, Delia, and Marcia Jellison, Skiatook, Oklahoma; two brothers, Alfred Kerschen, Goddard and Walter Kerschen, Wichita; four sisters, Sister Remegia Kerschen, Loretta Voth, Sister Lucille Kerschen, all of Wichita; 11 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters, Louise Bestgen, Grace Nilles and Genevieve Kerschen.

Rosary was held July 5 at Kaufman Funeral Home. Mass of the Chrisitan Burial was July 6 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Halstead. Burial was in Halstead Cemetery.
