Edward A Geist

Edward A. Geist, 87, Moundridge, former 49 year resident of rural Halstead, died Thursday, June 9, 2005 at Memorial Home, Moundridge, where he had resided since 2001.

He was born September 12, 1917 at Plevna, son ofThomas William and Ottie Pearl Wyer Geist. He was a farmer and member of the First Mennonite Church, Halstead. He was an avid supporter of sports at Halstead High School and was awarded "Supporter of the Year" recognition at one of the sports banquets.

On November 1, 1942, he married B. Ruth Regier at Moundridge. She survives of Moundridge. Other survivors: brothers, Virgil Geist, Hutchinson and Arnold Geist, Salina; sisters, Eula Mae Kettle, Ulysses and Jean Baker, Buhler.

He was preceded in death by sisters Wreatha Blasdel and Evelyn Walker.

Inurnment will be in the Halstead Cemetery on June 20. A memorial service will be at First Mennonite Church in Halstead with Rev. Cleo Koop presiding.
