Elsie S. Remp, Newton, 100, former Halstead resident and retired registered nurse who worked in Dr. Ruth Montgomery Short's office at the Hertzler Clinic, died March 29, 2005 at Friendly Acres Retirement Center in Newton.

She was born October 24, 1904 to John George and Amelia Kober Remp in Bucyrus, Ohio.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Newton, attended the Fidelis Sunday School Class and also worked with Dr. Fent of Newton. Her hobbies included bird watching and spending time with her family.

Survivors include Niece, Barbara Thomas, Newton, four other nieces and three nephews. She was preceded in death by four brothers, six sisters, three nephews and one niece.

Services were held March 31 with Chaplain Jeanne Bergren. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery, Newton, Kansas.
