Laura O (Moses) Beamgard

Laura O. Beamgard, 98, died A[ril 9, 2006 at Newton Medical Center. She was born March 9, 1908 to Ephrim Densmore Leach and Laura Isabel Moses in Newton. She married Earl D. Beamgard on July 31, 1929 in Cimarron. He died March 12, 1987.

She was a loving homemaker and housewife. She was a member of First Christsian Church. She was a matron of the Eastern Star, member of Rebecca Lodge and volunteer worker for Kansas Christian Home and the Red Cross. She also was an active member of the Christian Women's Fellowship.

Survivors include a daughter, Gloria and Bob Beamgard Martin of Wichita; foster daughter, Byrdie and Delbert Johnson, Ponca City, Oklahoma; grandson, Robert J. Martin, Halstead; granddaughter, Laura Richardson of Osage City 3 great grandchildren and a foster granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her parents and seven brothers.

Services were held April 13 at First Christian Church with Pastor Gary Bell officiating. Burial was at Greenwood Cemetery.
