Mary A. (Moriss) Benewait

Mary A. Benewiat, 69, died Tuesday, December 12, 2006 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. She was born June 4, 1937 in Joplin, Missouri to Donald and Mary Louise Ledford Moriss. She married Michael Benewiat on September 11, 1956 at Wichita. He survives.

She was a Halstead resident since 1972 and worked as a custodian for USD 440 Bentley Primary School. She was a member of Ruth-Wilson American Legion Post 231 Auxiliary in Halstead.

She is also survived by four sons, Daniel (Tami) Benewiat; John (Mona)Benewiat; Steven Benewiat and Mark Benewiat, all of Halstead; brothers Pete Anastospolis, Joplin, Missouri and James Anastospolis of Cartrage, Missouri and ten grand children. Her parents and sisters, Marjorie Smith and Martha Morris preceded her in death.

Funeral Services are December 15 a Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Halstead. Burial is at the Halstead Cemetery.
