Burrton Telephone News Article

Last Wednesday night at Mennonite by the name of Dick died at the residence of his sister, about six miles north of here in the Mennonite settlement. Men usually die but their remains are seldom used as his have been. About ten months ago Mr. and Mrs. Dick by mutual disagreement concluded to live apart; he since then has worked in this city at various things and did so until a short time ago when he was taken sick and removed to his sisters. He expressed a desire to see his wife and children just before he died but she on receiving the message would not go or allow her children to. After his death and before he was placed in a coffin she with some of her friends went and took possession of the corpse and dumped it into a lumber wagon along with what clothing, etc they could severe, hauling them to her house. The deceased man's sister and friends were in town yesterday wanting to get the legal advice they could to assist them in regaining the remains. A party left here last evening for the purpose of investigating the matter. The Burrton Telephone, Saturday May 1st 1880. Page 3.
