Roy A. Auernheimer, 87, retireed Valley Center Junior High school teacher and guidance counselor, died Thursday, August 21, 2008, August 21, 2008 at Memorial Home, Moundridge.

He was born July 31, 1921 at Burrton to Adolph Andrew and Clara Christine Goebel Auernheimer. They preceded him in death.

A 1939 graduate of Halstead High School, he earned an associates degree from Reedley Junior College, Reedley, Calif; a bachelors degree from Bethel lCollege; and a masters from Kansas State Teachers College in Emporia.

He also served three years in Civilian Public Service.

On August 26, 1948 he married Rosetta L. Unruh at Halstead. She survives. He was a member of First Mennonite Church, Halstead.

Survivors besides his wife; sons Ron (Marilyn) and Doug Auernheimer, both of Halstead; John (Janet), Mouondridge; daughter, Carlene (Mike) Powers, Newton 6 grandchildren; one great granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by brothers, Jacob, Walter and Arthur Auernheimer and sisters, Florence Gomez, Selma Auernheimer and Anna Pankratz.

Memorial services was August 30 at the Church. A private family inurnment was at Halsted Cemetery.
