Dianna Sue Regier Harms, 65, daughter of Evelyn Regier of Halstead died on September 16, 2012.  She was born December 3, 1946 in Newton to Edwin and Evelyn Regier.

 

She grew up outside of Burrton and graduated from Burrton High School in 1964.  She attended Bethel College in North Newton, where she received her associate degree in business administration.  Dianne worked for several years in Newton for the Mennonite General Conference Headquarters before moving to Emporia where she completed her bachelor's and Master's degrees.  From there she moved to Kansas City, Kansas and taught business courses at Argentiine High School.

 

It was there in Kansas City that Dianne met her husband, Richard; they married in 1971 and this past August celebrated 41 years of marriage.

 

In 1974 Rich and Dianne moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado where they made their home and raised their children.  Dianne viewed being a wife and mother as a high calling and poured much of her time and efforts into her family.  She was a regular volunteer at Colorado Springs Christian School where all three children attended and was also involved in many church and ministry activities teaching Sunday school, attended Bible Study Fellowship and served as the bookkeeper for Rocky Mountain Mennonite Camp.  She worked part-time for a few years at the Internatiional Bible Society.

 

She is survived by her husband, Richard Harms of Colorado Cprings; son, Philip (Janel) Harms of Wichita; daughter, Mary Harms of Colorado Springs; daughter, Susan Harms of Colorado; brother, Duane (Pauline) Regier of Burrton and mother, Evelyn Regier of Halstead.

 

Graveside service was held September 20 in Canon City,  Colorado.  The celebration of life service was held September 20 in Colorado Spriings, Colorado.
