Elivira A. Allen was born November 27, 1878 and died at Bethany Hospital at Newton on December 17, 1909, aged 31 years, 21 days.  She was married to William Davis in  December 1896.  To this union were born four children, two of whom preceded her to a better land.  She was left a widow on January 22, 1905.  On January 9, 1907 she was married to James T. Shoemaker.  To this unionn was born one child, Frances.

 

The deceased was an earnest, faithful Christian, joining the Christian Church early in life.  She was always active in every good work.  One of her greatest regrets in her declining health was her inability to attend her church.  A devoted and loving and faithful wife and mother has passed to her great reward, promised to all who are faithful to the end.  She leaves a husband, three children, father, four sisters and two brothers to mourn her untimely death.

 

Funeral services were held at the  Christian Church Sunday morning, conducted by the pastor, Elder Alfred Doolittle, after which interment at Hillside Cemetery in Sedgwick, Kansas.
