Helen Jones Cagle, 71, died at Galachia Heart Hospital in Wichita on December 19, 2012. She was born January 11, 1941 to William Lee and Velma Elizabeth Moore Jones in Blue Mountain, Mississippi. She married Tony Cagle on December 24, 1947 in Holly Springs, Mississippi. They would have been maried 55 years on Christmas Eve. He survives of the home.
Helen was a homemaker in the true sense of the word. She was a woman who saw the home as a strong gathering place for family and friends. She was everyone's "Mom"! Tony and Helen demonstrated a strong love for each other and for the family. She delighted in her grand and great grandchildren and demonstrated her love through her selfless and humble care and acceptance.
She enjoyed many things, including her Bible, gospel music and crafts, dried flower arrangements and she was a big KU basketball fan. She was a member of the Eastern Star, Red Hat Society and the Halstead Baptist Church.
Survivors: husband, Tony; children, Michael and Janet Cagle, Tammy and Randy Regier and Barbara and Jeff Dickson; siblings, Lee and Ceolah Jones, Thomas and Donna Jones; Stanley and Jackie Jones and Brenda and Jerry Schultz. There are 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Steve Jones.
Services are scheduled for December 26 at First Christian Church of Newton. Peterson Funeral Home is in charge of services.
Helen struggled with cancer for many months until the time of her death. Her life touched many people and she will be remembered for her warmth, acceptance, humility and love for her family. The family is saddened with her passing but they will have many endurintg memories of her.
