Bonnie Lee Sheffler, 86, died Monday, January 7, 2013 at Newton Medical Center, Kansas. She was born September 2, 1996 at Caldwell to Leo James and Mabel Vance Siehndel of Walton.
She was a retired school teacher, having taught in Harvey County, Halsted and Hutchinson schools. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church; Helianthos and American Legion Post 231 Auxiliary, Halstead; 50 year member of O.E.S;Chapter 5 of Rebekahs; Ladies of the Elks and Epsilon; Sigma Alpha sorority, all of Newton; AAUW and was a lifemember of NEA and KNEA.
On August 3, 1947 she married Carl R. Sheffler at Newton. He died February 9, 2004.
Survivors: son, Kim Sheffler, Halstead; grandchildren; Amy Sheffler, Newton; Scott Sheffler, Hutchinson; brother, William Walton of Burlington and one great grandchild. She was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Sheffler.
Funeral services will be Saturday, Janauary 12 at First Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow at Halstead Cemetery.
