Funeral of Edward Cone at Burrton

Burrton, Kan., May 7 - Special - On last Saturday evening the painful news was received here of the sudden death of Edward Cone, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lyman Cone of this city.

Ed, as he was familiarly called by his many friends, was in the employ of the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad in the switch yards at Argentine, Kan., and met his death on the evening of May 3d, in a most shocking manner.  In attempting to board a rapidly moving car he missed his footing and was thrown under the wheels and instantly killed.

The body was brought here for burial and the funeral services held in the Presbyterian Church under the auspicious of the Knights of Pythias.

Owing to the popularity of the deceased he had hosts of friends, and the funeral was one of the largest and most solemn occasions known in Burrton.

Deceased was 20 years old and leaves a wife and child and many friends who deeply mourn his loss.
