Obituary

   William H. Chaple died at his farm south of Mission switch, four miles east of Halstead.  He was born at Cornwood Parish, Devon County, England in 1840. He was married to Louise Andrews in 1862.  Four children were born to this marriaage.  He came to America in 1885 but the fond hopes of this small family was badly shaken on the arrival in New York City by the death of the wife and mother.

   Mr. Chapple arrived in Macon township in April 1885.  He married Mrs. Parthena Eaton in 1888.  She had one son.   Survivors: wife, 2 sons, 2 daughters, 1 stepson, 19 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren. 

   Services were at the Zion Evanagelical Church.
