   Eva Pauline " Polly"Box, 87, died Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at Asburn, Park.  She was born November 9, 1925 in LaHarpe to Frank and Dorothy Edwards Troxel.  She was adopted by John C. and Myrtle Cabiness Welboan on May 5, 1932 when she was 6 years old.

   Polly graduated from Newton High School in 1943 and also graduated from Bethel College with a BA and did graduate work at Emporia State University.  On May 9, 1943 she married Robert M. Box.  He preceded her in death.

   In addition to sales work and packing flour for overseass shipment during World War II, she had been employed as an educator and social work suspervisor.  Polly has lived in Arizona and Texas.  While living in Temple, Texas, she attended Immanuel Baptist Church in Temple with her daughter's family and was a member of the Newton Assembly of God Churtch, where she was Sunday school superintendent for several years.

   Polly's greatest source of pride and joy were her children.  She greatly enjoyed spending time with her many friends and loving family.

   Survivors; 3 daughters, Jonnie Hawk and Joleen Wulf, both of Newton and Robin Van Rossun of Temple, Texas; one son, Robert G.  Box of Clearwater, Florida; two brothers, Clarence Trosel of Newton and Bill Troxel of Mission, Texas and a  half-sister, Leola Mae Foiles of Newton; 7 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren.

   Services were September 9 at Petersen Funeral H ome Chapel.  Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery.
