Grace A. Combs, 91, gently left this earth to be with her Heavenly Father the afternoon of October 10. 2013.
She was born on August 27, 1922 in Kansas City Missouir to James E. Combs Jr. on July 25, 1940. They were married for 72 years. In Jim's words, ""They were born married." Her parents were Walter and Eva McCracken.
Most of her life she was a homemaker. Grace was gifted in the art of sewing and needlework. She loved being outdoors and gardeniing. Grace was a devoted Episcopalian and her faith was an important part of her life. She loved serving the church and God.
Survivors: three chhildren; son, James Combs III and wife, Melinda, Albany, Missouri; son, Michael Combs and wife Cindy of Newton; and daughter Julie and Jon Mintner of Higginsville, Missouri; sister-in-law Lorraiine Combs; 7 grandchildren and 13 great grandparents. Sje waspreceded in death by her husband James E. Combs Jr. and her parents.
Funeral services will be October 16 at St. Mathew's Episcopal Church, Newton,. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery.
