Krehbiel, Daniel R

A SYNOPSIS OF THE LIFE OF DANIEL R. KREHBIEL AND TERRIE KENNEY

   Daniel R. Krehbiel was born on January the first, 1868 at Summerfield, Illinois, a son of the Reverend Christian Krehbiel and Susanna Ruth. They resided in Summerfield for many years and then moved to Kansas.
    On the thirteenth day of October and in the years of 1898, he was married to Miss Terrie Kenney in the City of Newton, Kansas. She was a daughter of Isaac and Mary Jane Kenney and was born on the thrid day of December in the year of 1876 at Rebersburg in the State of Pennsylvania.
    In the year of 1879 the family went west and made their home in Newton, Kansas where they lived for a number of years. She attended Newton High School and graduated from there in 1894. She was also a member of the first class that graduated from the Music Department of Bethel College.
    The couple moved to Moundrdige, Kansas where Mr. Krehbiel was associated with the Moundridge Milling Company prior to his death in 1921. The widow lived in Moundridge for several years and then moved back to Newton to make her home. In 1956 she moved to the Presbyterian Manor where she lived until she passed away on September the thirteenth in the year of 1959. She was eighty two years old and a pioneer resident of Newton, Kansas. She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church, the Junior Reading Circle and a fifty year member of the Eastern Star.
    The funeral services were held in the Church with the Rev. George W. Nelson and Rev. Floyd E. Kaiser taking part. Interment was in the Greenwood Cemetery with the Reverend John B. Covey officiating.
