Vernon E. Bailey
Vernon E. Bailey, 69, 1035 S.E. Third,
retired lead man from Beech Aircraft in Wichita where he worked for
20 years, died Sunday (Aug. 9, 1998) at Kansas Christian Home.
He was born Aug. 29, 1928, in Gate,
Okla., to Warren Hancock and Mary Emily (Carrico) Bailey. He married
Elizabeth Irene Criger in 1988, in Miami, Okla. She survives of
Newton.
He was a member of the International
Association of Machinists. He was a farmer in Piedmont. He also
worked for the Harvey County Road and Bridge division.
Other survivors include: three sons,
Charley Dean Bailey of Newton, Jimmie Lee Bailey of Scott City and
Eldon Lee Bailey of Whitewater; two daughters, Patricia Ann House and
Debra Work of Arizona; two brothers, Lawrence Charley Bailey and Roy
Dean Bailey, both of Marietta, Okla.; two sisters, Irene Gray of
Oklahoma City and Carol Rizley of Wichita; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Warren Eugene
Bailey; one brother, Barney Leland Bailey; and one grandson.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m.
Tuesday at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at a
later date.
Friends may sign the register book
until 5 p.m. today and until service time Tuesday at the funeral
home.
Memorials have been established with
Central Homecare and Hospice, Kansas Christian Home and American
Cancer Society in care of the funeral home.
