Suicide In Newton

Dr. C. W. Nolder Takes His Life, Presumably Fearing Disgrace

Newton, KS.  Jan 25 - Dr. C. W. Nolder, a well known physician, head of the medical and surgical institute of this city, shot and instantly killed himself today, at his home, presumably because of fear of the decision of the coroner's jury investigating the death of Mary Janke, a young German woman, who died under circumstances indicating that she had submitted to a criminal operation.  The jury's verdict in the Janke case, which was rendered after the doctor's suicide, did not directly involve him.
