Opal Mae (Shank) Gillet
PEABODY -- Opal Mae (Shank) Gillet, 84,
died Wednesday (Dec. 2, 1998) at Peabody Community Living Center.
She was born May 5, 1914, in Peabody to
Harry and Neoma (Rohr) Shank. She married Lloyd Alvin Gillet Feb. 10,
1934, in Newton. He preceded her in death May 11, 1947.
She was a lifetime Peabody resident.
She was a member of United Methodist Church in Peabody. She enjoyed
bowling and golf. She was an Avon representative for many years and
also provided many services to the community.
Survivors include one son, Douglas
Gillet of Peabody; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m.
Friday at Baker Funeral Home in Peabody with Pastor Jim Pohlman
officiating. Burial will be in the Prairie Lawn Cemetery. Friends may
call from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorials have been established with
Peabody-Burns High School Alumni Scholarship Fund in care of the
funeral home.
