Edith A. Yoder

HESSTON -- Edith A. Yoder, 79, formerly of Harper, died Monday (Dec. 21, 1998) at Schowalter Villa in Hesston.

She was born Dec. 11, 1919, in Harper to Reuben M. and Lucinda Ella (Neuhauser) Weaver. She married Reuben Yoder Jan. 25, 1941, in Harper. He preceded her in death Jan. 6, 1984.


She was a lifetime Harper resident until moving to Hesston May 2, 1985. She was a member of Pleasant Valley Mennonite Church in Harper for many years and at the time of her death was a member of the Crystal Springs Mennonite Church.

Survivors include: three daughters, Marcia Lind of Evanston, Ill., Sondra Glick of Riverside, N.J., and Lucinda Schlabach of Harrisonburg, Va.; two brothers, Ernest Weaver of Denver and Dale Weaver of Cripple Creek, Colo.; six sisters, Ella Mae Miller and Wanda Good, both of Harrisonburg, Va., Bertha Miller of Nampa, Idaho, Alta Fry of Elk Falls, Anna Ruth Beck of Hesston and Mary Shue of Harper; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, two sisters, one daughter; and one grandchild.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Schowalter Villa Chapel with the Rev. Royce Vogt officiating. Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Pleasant Valley Cemetery near Harper. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Miller Funeral Home in Hesston.

Memorials have been established with R. M. Weaver Scholarship Fund at Hesston College in care of the funeral home.
