   Wilbert H. "Bud" Penner, 85, Cessna and Eaton night foreman and farmer, died Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita..

   He was born June 22, 1928 at Halstead to Henry John and

Frances E. Bockhaus Penner.  He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and was the long-time treasurer and trustee of the Halstead Township Board.  On October 2, 1949 he married Elieen Grattan at Halstead and she survives.

   Other survivors:  son, Larry (Kathy) Penner, Winterset Iowa; daughter, Cheryl (Robert) McCart, Halstead; brother, Robert  (Joanne) Penner, Lincoln, Nebraska; sister, Florence (Merlan) Unruh, Halstead; daughter-in-law Patsy Penner, Burrton, 8 grandchildren and 13 grreat-grandchildren.

   He was preceded in death by a son, Greg; granddaughter, Stephanie McCart; and a great granddaughter, Emma Thompson.

   The Rosary will be said on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 and Mass of the Christian Burial wil be February 19 at Sacred Heart Catholic in Halstead.  Cremation will follow the Mass, and a private family inurnment will be held at Fairview Cemetery.
