Alfred I. Brand, 76, passed away February 8, 2014 at his home in Newton;. He was born November 20, 1937 in McNatt, Missouri, son of Edward and Rosie Sligar Brand. Al owned and operated Al's Carpet and Tile in Goodman, Missouri since 1958. On October 27, 2011 he married Mary L. Prewitt in Miami, Oklahoma. She survives of the home.
Other survivors: stepson, Curtis Sanders; two stepdaughters, Laurie Jones and Ruby Hammann; two brothers; half brothehr, William Parish of Anderson, Missouri and first cousin raised as a brotheer, James Stephens of Neoshaa, ,Missouri; half sister, Mabel Parish, Tyner ofBloominagton, Ill; 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildrn. He was preceded in death by his parents and Vina Grace Sligar.
Services will be February 13, 2014 at Petersen Funeral home with burial in Walton Cemetery, Walton, Kansas.
