Anthony 'Andy' Breitenstein
SALINA -- Anthony "Andy"
Breitenstein, 95, of Salina, former Newton resident, died Monday
(April 12, 1999) at Holiday Resort in Salina.
He was born Jan. 16, 1904, in Newton to
John Henry and Christina (Esser) Breitenstein. He married Ann
Sadowsky Feb. 24, 1936, in Newton. She preceded him in death.
He was a farmer and stockman and
co-owner of Sandhills Controlled Shooting Reserve located in Western
Harvey County. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in
Newton and 3rd Degree member of Knights of Columbus.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include: one son, Gene
Breitenstein of Topeka; one daughter, Darlene Spence of Salina; eight
grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Rosary service will be at 7 p.m.
Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Funeral service will be at 10
a.m. Friday also at the church with Rev. Ken Schuckman officiating.
Burial will be in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
Friends may call from 1 to 9 p.m.
Wednesday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday at Petersen Funeral Home.

Harvey County Ducks Unlimited in care of the funeral home.
