James A. Schmidt

James A. Schmidt, 26, 117 N. Pine, baker at Pizza Hut in Newton for six years, died Sunday (May 30, 1999) at his residence in Newton.

He was born Aug. 3, 1972, in Newton to Albert Allen and Shirley Ann (Plenert) Schmidt. They survive of Newton.

He was a member of First Mennonite Church in Newton. He enjoyed woodworking, drawing, the church and his pick-up.

Other survivor is maternal grandmother, Esther Plenert of Hillsboro.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Mennonite Church in Newton with the Revs. Clarence Rempel and Rusty Bonham officiating. Burial will be in the Restlawn Gardens of Memory. Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. today and 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday with family greeting friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Petersen Funeral Home.

Memorials have been established with First Mennonite Church Caring Fund or Young Adult Ministries in care of the funeral home.
