Arnold F. Herbel

HILLSBORO -- Arnold F. Herbel, 80, farmer, died Friday (July 30, 1999) at Kansas Christian Home in Newton.

He was born Aug. 18, 1918, in Hillsboro to George D. and Anna Elizabeth (Schultz) Herbel. He married Lorene Violet Schlehuber Dec. 9, 1945, in Hillsboro. She survives.

He was a rural Lehigh resident.

Other survivors include: three sons, Dean R. Herbel of Hillsboro, Larry Herbel of Wichita and Steven Herbel of Lehigh; four daughters, Carol Nickel of Inman, Sandra Denler of Okmulgee, Okla., Janet Watts of Burrton and Norma Harvey of Carbondale; one sister, Junice Samms of Junction City; and four grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Hillsboro with Pastor Richard L. Curtis officiating. Burial will be in the Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today with family greeting friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Hillsboro Memorial Chapel.

Memorials have been established with First Baptist Church in Hillsboro in care of the funeral home.
