Clara Schaffer Germer

Clara Schaffer Germer, 70, co-owner and operator of Dairy Queen franchise in Casa Grande, Ariz., retiring in 1985, died Sunday (Oct. 31, 1999) at Newton Presbyterian Manor.

She was born Nov. 12, 1928, in Newton to Plato Malcolm and Lula (Watkins) Kimball. She married Harold Schaffer in 1957, in Wichita. He preceded her in death in 1996. She married Alfred Germer November 1997, in Newton. He survives of Wichita.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Newton, attended Newton public schools and graduated from Plainview High School in Wichita.

After retiring, she moved to Tucson, Ariz, moving back to Newton in 1997.

Other survivors include: one brother, Bill D. Kimball of Newton; and one sister, Cleo Belts of Raytown, Mo.

She also was preceded in death by her parents.

There will be no services.

Memorials may be made to donor's choice in care of Broadway Colonial Funeral Home.
