C. Marguerite Klein

C. Marguerite Klein, 90, retired elementary teacher, died Sunday (Jan. 30, 2000) at Newton Presbyterian Manor.

She was born April 5, 1909, in rural Wichita to Lewis Jackson and Hettie Catharine (Loudenslager) Nicholson. She married the Rev. Richard Stanley Klein Aug. 23, 1938, in Maize. He preceded her in death July 24, 1974.

She worked four years for the State of Kansas in social services and 17 years in the Ashland public school system. She was a member of First United Presbyterian Church, Presbyterian Women, Irene Circle and was elder of First United Presbyterian Church, all of Newton, and the Retired Teachers Association.

She was a former member of the American Association of University Women.

Survivors include: three sons, Richard S. Klein Jr. and Alford Don Klein, both of Plano, Texas, and Larry Lee Klein of San Geronimo, Calif.; one sister, Ersa Walker of Newton; and seven grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by 10 brothers and sisters and one grandson.

Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at First United Presbyterian Church in Newton with Minister Jim Anderson officiating.

Memorials have been established with Newton Presbyterian Manor Good Samaritan Fund, Central Homecare and Hospice and First United Presbyterian Church Scholarship Fund in care of Petersen Funeral Home.
